Princess Margaret at Home

• A collaboration with Princess Margaret Cancer Care Clinic to collect information about patient wellbeing before appointments.
• Clinician access to PROs (patient reported outcomes) increases the ability to treat their patients needs. PATH allows patients to submit PROs from the comfort of their homes.

Research Platform to Screen and Protect Healthcare Workers

• A COVID-19 research project - publications here, here, and here.
• The goal of this research project was to find out the percentage of asymptomatic healthcare workers who unknowingly had COVID by checking antibody levels.

MyStudies

connecting researchers with rare disease patients

• A research platform in collaboration with RareConnect.
• MyStudies provides researchers with tools to gather patient-reported, current, and longitudinal health information to better understand the clinical features, course, and progression of rare diseases.

RareConnect

connecting rare disease patients accross the world

• A platform where patients with rare diseases can develop online communities and connect with others across continents and languages.
• The community can be found at rareconnect.org.

Course Calendar

upload PDFs to pull important dates and sync them with your calendar

• A web app that extracts dates from PDF files to automcatically input into your calendar.
• PDF files are translated to text using Google’s image OCR to text API - NLP processing on the text then detect the dates in the text.
• The project can be found on github and devpost. It was presented at nwHacks 2021 and won an Honorable Mention award.

Facial Gesture Recognition

using natural, human gestures to interact with technology

• A machine learning application that can recognize up to 7 facial gestures in real-time using a webcam.
• Humans naturally express themselves through facial gestures and expressions. A facial gesture recognition tool can provide an easy interface to computers or by training people who have difficulty understanding others.
• The project was presented for my engineering capstone presentation here and can be found on github.

Mental Health Map

connecting users to specialized mental health resources

• A web app that connects users to recommended mental health resources using a short diagnostic quiz. It simplifies the search for mental health resources for at-risk groups who may otherwise struggle with finding relevant help.
• The project can be found on github and devpost. It was presented at the cmd-f 2020 hackathon held at UBC and won the Best Community Connector award.

Real Time Systems Traffic Controller

• A one-way traffic light simulation using an imlementation of FreeRTOS, an open source real time operating system, embedded on an STM32F4 Discovery board.
• Green LEDs represent cars, which obey the red-yellow-green LED traffic light. The flow of traffic can be altered in real time by a dial (potentiometer).

VEX Robotics Project

autonomous robot

• An autonomous robot built using VEX robotics parts, IR and sonar sensor, and developed using RobotC.
• The robot senses the IR signal, navigates towards the signal, drops its payload, then retreats to the edge of the arena.
